Literacy Connection is committed to a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where the people we serve, staff members and volunteers at all levels feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual identity or orientation, disability, education, or any other bias.

Non-discrimination is inherent in our mission statement, ”We transform lives by cultivating literacy skills that promote economic and social success.” It is reflected in the wording of our statement of core values and beliefs.

We will aim to recognize and address biases during recruiting, hiring and evaluating staff and volunteers.

We will train new staff and volunteers in equitable practices.

We will be transparent about the salary range for public job descriptions.

We will dedicate effort to improving diversity, equity and inclusion in our Board and leadership positions.
