Job Title: Youth Program Coordinator
Location: Literacy Connection Office, Other Community Spaces (i.e., Dodd Meadows), some remote work.
Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (25 hours/week; 1:00pm to 6:00pm Monday-Friday; hours may vary)
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: $20-24/hour depending on experience

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Youth Program Coordinator to join our team. This part-time position (25 hours per week) is responsible for implementing and overseeing youth literacy programs that align with our mission and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education or youth development, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to enhancing academic success among youth ages 11 to 18.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Coordination and Implementation:
- Coordinate and implement homework clubs, 1:1 tutoring opportunities, and interactive journaling sessions with youth ages 11 to 18.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
- Attend relevant training to keep current on programs, best practices, and research related to youth development and academic progress.
2. Participant Engagement:
- Recruit, enroll, and support program participants ensuring accurate documentation of intake process.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all youth.
- Provide case management services for youth referred to Academic Success or Interactive Journal programs.
- Meet with youth, their parents/guardians, school counselors, and others to ensure the progress of students and address needs and concerns.
3. Partnerships and Community Outreach:
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners to expand program reach and effectiveness.
- Conduct outreach to recruit participants including representing the organization at community events and meetings and creating and/or distributing marketing materials.
4. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal use and grant purposes.
- Maintain program database, ensuring accurate data entry is completed in a timely manner.
5. Volunteer Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and supervise program volunteers.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality program delivery.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in program coordination, education, or youth development.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn program database.
- Spanish language skills highly preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Passion for making a positive impact on youth.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position requiring 25 hours per week. Activities are regularly scheduled for after-school hours with some flexibility and occasional evenings and weekends required for program activities and community events.
